A Campaign in vega defines any appeal/event/initiative for your organisation that involves communicating with and/or soliciting payments from your supporters, tracking responses, and resulting income.
These are structured as a Campaign Header and a Campaign Action or series of coordinated actions to achieve the desired outcome.
An Action in vega defines the channel by which you communicate with your supporters during a campaign.
Sometimes it is easiest to create your campaign action ahead of time to be processed at a later date. This can be achieved with the standard campaign actions but the recipient list is set at the time the action is created. If you need to use a dynamic list of recipients to get the most up-to-date contacts at the time your action is processed, a scheduled action can be used instead.

Creating a new scheduled campaign action
From the campaign header detail view, click the ‘New Scheduled Action’ button on the right-hand side:
This will open the scheduled action details page:

|Name your scheduled action.|
There are 4 action types available:
|Set the date your action should be processed on.|
|Set the time your action should be processed on.|
|This dropdown will show all your own queries to choose from. Select the query you would like to use for the contacts to receive this communication.|
|Select a staff member from this dropdown of users. The user will receive a notification when the communication has been processed, including a link to download the file for Direct Mail, Excel, and Unity4 Export List.|
|This will be ticked as default when creating a new action. This can be unticked when editing an action so that it will no longer be processed.|
|This dropdown is available for Direct Mail and Email action types. Select the document to be used in the PDF download or the email content.|
|When the Email type is chosen this field will be available to set the from email address to be used when sending the email to all contacts.|
Click Save once you are happy with your scheduled action settings.
You will receive a message that the action has been saved successfully.
Back on the main Engage tab you can view your scheduled actions by clicking the option on the campaign header:
This will display all scheduled actions for this campaign header, showing if they're active and if they have already been processed or not:
Click View to open the scheduled action. Changes can be made to a scheduled action up until the time is it processed. An action can be updated to Inactive if it is no longer needed and this will not be processed.
