A default unsubscribe widget is available when the special link #Unsubscribe# is inserted in a document.
This link will only work when sent in an email from Vega, not when viewing the document in your browser, as it needs to be linked to the Vega contact to get the unsubscribe details.
From an email, the link will open the widget as shown below:
If the user submits the widget, their contact will be updated as not OK to contact, with the default inactive reason selected. The option Unsubscribed Via Widget will also be checked, and any comments they included will be added as a note with the type 'Unsubscribe Comments'.
When this default unsubscribe link is used in a campaign email, the unsubscribe will be recorded against that specific campaign action and will be recorded in the Email Metrics.
There is also an option to create your own unsubscribe widget to include customisations, such as capturing specific reasons for the unsubscribe.
Another option is to provide your contacts with the option to update their preferences with the use of custom attributes on a Registration Widget, if you don't want to include the default Unsubscribe option of updating a contact to not OK to contact.
