PayPal integration is here and you can now integrate your PayPal account to give your donors an additional payment option to make a one-off donation or pay for a membership.
Once integrated, PayPal will be available for your contacts to use in the donation widget for one-off and in the membership widget.
See the help article from PayPal here to set up your non-profit status and get reduced transaction fees.
Please follow the steps below to enable this.
If you already have a PayPal developer account, for business or personal, you will need to access this setting from one of the options below:
Account Settings > Website payments > PayPal buttons > Update
Or,
Settings > Seller Tools > PayPal buttons > Manage
Both of the options above will take you to the page shown below where you need to select Smart Buttons
You will now need to customise your payment button as shown below.
Select the button type as Fixed price
Select your Currency
Select your Button style
Click Copy Code
After copying the code, paste it in notepad or any other editor and copy the Client ID
Please watch the video below for this whole process from a personal account
If the above shows client-id=sb when you paste the code, then you do not have a developer account and will need to log in using the link here to generate your Client ID- https://developer.paypal.com/developer/applications
Below shows a screen capture of how to create a Rest API App in your Live Paypal account to receive your Client ID to use in vega.
For the vega integration, go to Admin> Integrations> PayPal to paste your client ID and select the currency code.
A PayPal button will be automatically added to all donation widgets when the above credentials are added and the integration is tagged as Active.
Below is an example of how this will look in your widgets:
Each one-off payment processed this way will be given the pay type as PayPal, please ensure this is an active pay type attribute.
