A Campaign in vega defines any appeal/event/initiative for your organisation that involves communicating with and/or soliciting payments from your supporters, tracking responses, and resulting income. For example, a Campaign could be -
- February Tax Appeal
- Special World Charity Day
- Gala Dinner Event
- Quarterly eNewsletter
These are structured as a Campaign Header and a Campaign Action or series of coordinated actions to achieve the desired outcome.
An Action in vega defines the channel by which you communicate with your supporters during a campaign.
A campaign could have one or multiple actions. Here is an example of how a campaign may be structured in vega -

It is important to plan out your campaign structure in advance for how you would like to organise these to best suit your needs.

If you would like to schedule an email, excel export, PDF download, or Unity4 export for a future date and time based on a dynamic query, this can be done using a Scheduled Action.
Creating a new campaign action
From the campaign header detail view, click the ‘New Action’ button on the right-hand side:
You will now need to ‘Choose an Action Type'
Click the action type you would like to use to engage with your contacts.
Send mass emails (EDM, eNewsletters)
|Generate an Excel spreadsheet of contact information (Mail merge).|
Create printable labels (Direct mail).
Track income for further segmented campaigns.
Print personalised letters to be sent to your contacts (Direct mail).
Set event details and create a widget to enable supporters to RSVP to your event.
|Set ticket options and create a widget to enable supporters to purchase from.|
|Run a raffle within vega.|
|Choose winners for your raffle.|

Viewing campaign actions
Click ‘Show All Actions’ to see further detail or edit any of the associated actions within this campaign header. The number indicates the total number of actions within the header to show if there are more actions to be displayed or not.
You can toggle between Active and Inactive to view the actions in each status
Editing campaign actions
For Email, Excel, Labels, External List, and PDF actions clicking Edit will enable you to update the action name and untick Active. This will then remove it from the list of campaigns when adding a payment and it will only show when the Inactive selection is chosen above. Inactive campaign actions can still be reported on in the query tool and Insights. Campaign actions can be selected from the Inactive list and updated back to Active at any time.
You also have the option to add a campaign tag to the action from this Edit pop-up. Select the tag from the dropdown and click Save Tags.
For RSVP or Ticket event actions, clicking Edit will open up the event configuration where you can make changes, including setting it as inactive or adding/removing campaign tags.
