- Character Encoding: This is a system that pairs each character with a specific code that computers can understand. For example, in HTML,
"
is the numeric entity for a double quote ("
). - HTML Encoding: When text is converted for display on the web, special characters are often encoded to ensure they render correctly. In this case, the double-quote character (
"
) is being replaced with its HTML entity equivalent ("
). - Email Clients: Different email clients handle encoding in various ways. If the email is being viewed in an HTML context, these entities should be rendered as the appropriate characters. However, if the email client or server incorrectly interprets or displays the encoding, you might see the raw HTML entities instead of the actual characters.
The text editor that we use should handle UTF-8 encoding to make the email content usable by most email clients but when using special characters if possible, avoid using special characters directly. Instead, use the editor's built-in feature for adding special characters or symbols.
Text Content Properties | Explanation |
Text color: This will apply the selected colour to the text in your current content block.
Link color: This will apply the selected colour to any link in your current content block.
Line height: There are four options to increase the line-height of your current content block. This increases the space between each line of text in the block and can make large pieces of text easier to read.
Padding: Turning on the More options will allow you to set individual padding for the top, bottom, left and right. If this is off the padding size will be applied to all sides. The padding increases the blank space between the text and the edge of the content block area.
Hide: This allows you to set whether the current content block should be hidden when the document is viewed on Desktop or Mobile. |
