Membership Widget - Discounts

Overview

The Discounts section allows you to create Discount Codes that members can enter when completing the Membership Widget to receive a discounted membership price.

Discount Codes can be configured as either a percentage or fixed amount discount and can be set to be available only during a specific date range.

Open the Membership Widget

1. Go to Admin > Widget Configuration.
2. Find the membership widget you want to edit.

3. Select Edit next to the widget name.

4. Select Discounts from the menu on the left.

Please note: If you are creating a new widget, select Create Membership Widget. We recommend starting with the Form Setup article in the Membership Widget article series for guidance on setting up a new widget.

Create a Discount Code

1. Select Add Discount to create a new discount code.

Discount field	Explanation
	The Discount Code is the code the member will enter when completing the Membership Widget. You can enter your own code or select Generate to have Vega create a randomised code for you. Example: WELCOME10
	Select whether the discount should be calculated as a Percentage or Fixed Amount.
	Enter the discount value. For example: Percentage: Enter 10 for a 10% discount. Fixed Amount: Enter 10 for a $10 discount.
	Enter the Start Date for the discount. The discount can be configured in advance, but it will only become available on or after the start date.
	If required, enter an End Date. This allows you to create a limited-time discount, such as a promotional offer for new memberships.
	Select Active and Save to make the Discount Code available on your Membership Widget.

Using a Discount Code

Once the Discount Code is active and within its configured date range, members can enter the code when completing the Membership Widget.

The discount will be applied to the membership price according to the discount type and value configured.

For example, if a membership costs $100 and a 10% discount code is applied, the membership price will be reduced to $90.

Discount Summary

The Summary section on the right-hand side of the Discounts page shows how many times each Discount Code has been used.

This can help you monitor the use of promotional codes and see how frequently a particular discount has been applied.

Deactivate a Discount Code

If you no longer want a Discount Code to be available, you can make it inactive without deleting it.

1. Select Edit next to the Discount Code.
2. Untick Active.
3. Select Save.

The Discount Code will no longer be available for members to use, but the discount record and its usage information will remain in Vega.

Delete a Discount Code

If you no longer need a Discount Code, you can permanently remove it.

1. Select Delete next to the Discount Code.
2. Confirm the deletion if prompted.

Please note: Deleting a Discount Code is different from making it inactive. If you may need to retain the discount information or review its previous usage, consider making the code Inactive instead.
