Donation Widget- Testing

Once your donation widget is configured, it is best to do some test donations to check the donor experience.

You can of course process a $1 donation on the widget to experience this process and this is recommended to confirm how your donations will be processed and show in your payment gateway.

If you have many donation options to test etc then you can also use a test URL to avoid a payment each time. When you click the link to view your widget in the browser, as shown above, you need to add &test=1 to the end of the URL and then press enter.

Enter your details and email you wish to use to view the acknowledgements.

Depending on your payment gateway, the payment criteria will be different.

For Stripe and Flo2Cash the payment section is included in the Vega widget so the below details can be used to avoid an actual payment here:

On the payment section of this test widget, you can use:

Card number - 4111 1111 1111 1111

Expiry date - Any valid expiry, 10/ 22 for example

CVC - Any three numbers, 123 for example

This will process the donation as per your widget settings in Vega but will show with receipt number Test11111

The other payment gateways use their own iframe for the payment section, with this test URL this is by-passed. For Windcave, eWay and Paystation the card details will not need to be entered at all.

Please be aware that any of these test donations will still be counted as successful payments in reporting, once testing is complete these payments will need to be deleted. This can be done by right-clicking the payment and select Delete Payment:
